Our Founder
Our founder, Bharat Surtie, has 15 years of work experience in accounting and tax in South Africa.
His experience includes accounting, tax compliance and consulting services to high net-worth individuals, trusts and small to medium sized companies.
This involves consulting with clients, company registrations, VAT and payroll registrations, tax compliance, preparing annual financial statements, monthly management accounts, notice of objections, SARS compromise offers, and much more.
Qualifications
He obtained his National Diploma in Accounting and BTech in Taxation at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT). He furthered his studies at the University of Cape Town (UCT) and obtained a Post Graduate Diploma in Tax Law.

Bharat is a registered Professional Accountant with the South African Institute of Professional Accountants and a registered Tax Practitioner (PR-0002407) with the South African Revenue Services.

Work Experience
He did his SAIPA articles at Neil Fick Inc Chartered Accountants and Registered Auditors in Worcester where he gained valuable audit, accounting, and tax exposure. During this time, he travelled twice a week to Cape Town to attend classes to complete his Post Graduate Diploma in Tax Law at UCT.
Bharat joined The Cape Tax Company in Bellville where he started as a tax consultant and became the accounting and tax manager. He later ran the accounting department and gained valuable experience in dealing with various SARS compromise offers, drafting notice of objections, attending VAT registrations, preparing foreign investment allowances and tax returns for expats.
He was a tax compliance officer at Moore Cape Town in Paarden Eiland where he managed a portfolio of tax clients which involved companies, trusts and individuals.
Bharat worked as a senior corporate tax compliance officer at Forvis Mazars in Century City where he managed a diverse portfolio of tax clients in the tax compliance department. Bharat gained valuable exposure working on large multi-national companies’ tax affairs as well as liaising with the international clients. When Bharat visited his girlfriend (now his wife) who was living and working at the time in Doha, Qatar he visited the Forvis Mazars Offices which was quite an experience. He then became a tax accountant in the tax consulting department. He gained experience in preparing tax reviews/reports on audited tax computations and draft financials which involved working through the trial balance, testing various risk areas and liaising with the audit department to finalise the queries raised on the report. The role also required preparing tax computations and submitting returns.
He worked for Webber Tax Consulting and Advisory Services where he drafted annual financial statements, management accounts, prepared various tax computations, VAT returns, DWT returns, income tax and provisional tax returns for high-net worth individuals and companies. Attended to SARS queries, audits and VAT registrations.
